Mondelez Kinh Do Vietnam Inaugurates Its New Cake Workshop In Hung Yen To Supply Growing Demand In South East Asia

The additional production in a brand-new workshop promotes Vietnam as the company’s regional manufacturing hub for sponge cakes.

Hung Yen, Vietnam – 27th April, 2017 – Mondelez Kinh Do today announced the launch of its latest production line in Vietnam. Located at its Hung Yen factory, this investment marks a major milestone for the company and will serve as Mondelez International’s key regional hub for soft-cakes.

The world class manufacturing facility will produce various cake brands for the Southeast Asia markets. The facility is aligned with the company’s global quality standards and the production line and assigned workforce have been fully equipped to achieve Halal “A” certificate by the Indonesian Council of Ulama (MUI). The production line has followed “GMP - Good manufacturing practices” in design, a leading benchmark in global snacking production and world class quality compliance. Products from this facility will also be distributed to Vietnamese consumers from next year.

The investment is expected to enhance Mondelez Kinh Do’s local competitiveness and export capability, particularly to those markets requiring Halal food standards. Amid positive outlook for the confectionery market, the company will continue to drive growth thanks to its powerful portfolio of beloved brands, its superior distribution system and its young and talented workforce.

Launched in July 2015 following the completion of Mondelēz International's acquisition of Kinh Do snacks, the company has undergone operations transformation while its Vietnamese team has undergone extensive trainings and best-practices exchange with experts and counterparts in Mondelez International network.
